Beyond the Classroom

At Avondale, learning extends far beyond textbooks. Our students develop confidence, teamwork, creativity, and new skills through a vibrant range of activities.

Building Champions

Physical education and sporting achievement are important parts of life at Avondale. Our students regularly represent the school at the highest level of prep school athletics in Jamaica.

The school participates in the annual JISA/GK Prep School National Athletics Championships held at the National Stadium, competing in sprints, distance events, and field events against schools from across the island.

Avondale also hosts an annual Sports Day — a celebration of physical fitness, healthy competition, teamwork, and school spirit.

Colourful Young Minds

Creative expression is an important part of life at Avondale. The school has hosted art expositions such as the celebrated "Colourful Young Minds" exhibition, where students showcase their artistic talents to the community.

These events celebrate creativity, build confidence, and allow every child to shine in their own unique way. The arts develop teamwork, self-expression, and the confidence that carries over into every area of a student's life.

Whether through visual arts, music, or performance, Avondale students have the opportunity to explore and develop their creative abilities alongside their academic pursuits.

Avondale Talks!!

Avondale Talks!! is our student-produced talk show — a show for kids, by kids. Available on our YouTube channel, this initiative builds public speaking skills, confidence, and media literacy from an early age.

Students research topics, conduct interviews, and present content to their peers, developing communication skills that will serve them for life. It's one of the many ways Avondale goes beyond traditional education to develop well-rounded, confident young people.
