Grade levels

From first steps to secondary-ready

Kindergarten

Ages 3½ to 5

Our early years programme lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Through structured play, guided discovery and nurturing instruction, children develop early literacy, numeracy and social skills in a warm, supportive setting.

Small class sizes ensure every child receives the individual attention they need to flourish. Our experienced early childhood educators create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that make each day an adventure.

Preparatory (Primary)

Grades 1 to 6 · Ages 6 to 12

Our preparatory programme follows the Jamaica National Standards Curriculum as set by the Ministry of Education. Students progress through a rigorous academic programme designed to build strong foundations in all core subjects.

Critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills are developed alongside academic knowledge. Students are thoroughly prepared for the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examination for secondary school placement.

National examination

PEP examination preparation

The Primary Exit Profile (PEP) is Jamaica's national assessment for students transitioning from primary to secondary school. At Avondale, we ensure our students are thoroughly prepared across all components.

JISA Member School

Avondale Preparatory is a proud member of the Jamaica Independent Schools' Association (JISA). Our students participate in JISA events including the national Prep School Athletics Championships held annually at the National Stadium.
